Heartbroken

Belongings

This day is a very sad day for me. Charlie, our family joy, died today, March 30, 2006. He was a great dog, always has been faithful and never barked like other stray dogs would. When he first came in, he was a very fiesty dog, running to and fro, not yet used to the surroundings. Dad warned me on his nature calls so i personally trained him, waking up 5am to see to it that he gets used to it. The rest was not that hard, because he wasn't a hard dog to train. Another interesting factor is that he eats whatever is given to him. Unlike his predecssor that is very choosy and would even eat a single bite, he eats all things!! From pandesal to steaks! He'd always wait on us. He'll meet us when we get home, even upto his last day, (last night), he never fails to do so, even if no one would teach that to him. My dad would use to go down with him and take him to the park. But because of a bad prioro experience, (our previous dog was hit by an obnoxious car who didn't even stop to think), he lessened and even stopped going down with him. But even though that was the only happy days of charlie, he didn't stop meeting us at the doorway, and trying to lick our feet even if we shooed him away. Then he would wait on us when we eat. Because that's the only time that we'd really take him into consideration. In his younger years, he would climb up to us and tell us to give him food. Even scraps were fine with him! ^^ And during night time, he'd choose which door to sleep on because that's where the aircon would usually flow. With his built and millions of hair, i'd suppose that's the only burden of our dog, given our tropical weather. But recently, he's been sleeping on my door more often and i could say i'm priviledged to have that, though i was always busy with my own schedules and didn't give a thought of cuddling him and patting him.. =( The best that i did was to give him his lunch meals, mashing all kinds of stuffs, from his favorite chicken, and veggies, and rice. But even i did that grudgingly.. I didn't deserve to have a great dog, but that's what Charlie is: a GREAT DOG. No one could ask for more.

Unfortunately, a good thing overdone would usually have drastic result. My mom love to overfeed him. Thus from a usual 7lbs an average pom should have, he weighed a good 13+ lbs! That may have led to his developing of asthma and frequent hyperventillation. Last night was the worse one and we thought it was his usual routine. This morning we found him peacefully sleeping in front of the ref (i think he didn't want to burden anyone of us to think of him anymore) =( may his soul rest in peace... The best line i could remember right now is what my dad use to say: "Cutie is a good good boy called cutie boy" ^^;
Former days..
Super Cutie!!
