remembering the tale..

there was once an old man who kept on breaking his rice bowl. the son and his wife were so frustrated by his dad's behavior of knocking his ricebowl that one day, both decided to give him a wooden bowl instead. Thus everytime the old man knocked his ricebowl, it didn't break. This matter pleased the couple becoz it saved them lots of money. Thus this practice went on for years. One day, the dad caught his son looking at wooden ricebowl and asked his son what he was thinking. Without hesitation, the son replied, "Why, i was thinking of giving you a wooden ricebowl one day when you get old! just like what you're giving to granddad!!" Filled with remorse, the dad immediately threw the wooden ricebowl and changed it to their normal ricebowl for eating

and now applying this to my own life today...

i remembered the time i bought the cellfone for my dad.. it was his birthday then and i was really excited to give him the fone.. as a matter of fact, even though i knew that he was really not that careful in handling things.. ie. accidentally dropping the cellfone.. quite frequently.. yet i was still excited to give him his new cellfone.. everything went quite well.. well until today..

today marks the day when my dad's cellfone was snatched from him under his nose in an escalator in Sta Lucia East Grand Mall.. at first i had mixed reaction when my mom told me to buy another cellfone for him.. but i just remembered the tale of the wooden bowl and the old man.. and i just think to myself.. "Geesh.. i have only one dad and I don't think that scrimping on him will be any justice to what he has given me so far.. so what the heck.." ^^

graveh.. am super drained and super tired and super darned sleepy already... My cuzin n i were tasked to straighten out the inventory of our age old system within 15 or so days.. we are currently in our 3rd day and there's still soooo soo sooo much to catch up on.. no one's cooperating.. serials are missing!! grrr... such and such contributes to backlog.. and as if that's not enough, our communication server just went down!! grrrr... double triple grrrr... but at least it went up already after awhile.. duhhh... another contribution to backlog... sigh sigh sigh.. will these ever end??? plus still have a paper pending for doc roxas.. haven't started yet... hope to start soon.. my arse'll surely be duped after this... huhuhu!! =(
